A new lentil and kaspa pea are coming to market next year, and we’re excited to see what they produce. One is the new disease-resistant imi-tolerant lentil variety ALB Terrier, and the other is the latest kaspa type pea variety APB Bondi. Find out more below.
ALB Terrier Lentils (2024) (Small/Red) NEW
ALB Terrier lentils are a new release out of the Australian Lentil Breeding program; it comes with imi-tolerance and good early vigour. ALB Terrier is a mid-flowering and mid-maturity variety. It has an improved boron tolerance to some of our other varieties and high resistance to root lesion nematodes. Early disease ratings are R for Nipper Ascochyta blight, MR(p) for Hurricane Ascochyta blight, and MRMS(p) for botrytis grey mould (BGM).

APB Bondi Peas 2024
APB is a high-yielding ‘Kaspa type’ with a mid-flowering and mid-maturity. It has a high level of tolerance to high soil boron and is moderately tolerant to high salinity. It has an erect, semi-leafless plant type. A broad adaptation across all the cropping regions with consistently high grain yield, up to 5-10% higher yielding than previous kaspa-types PBA Tayor and PBA Butler. The disease package is MS for Blackspot, S for Bacterial Blight, R-MR for Downy Mildew, and R for Powdery Mildew. It also has resistance to pea seed borne mosaic virus and bean leaf roll virus.
