BASF Invigor LR4540P

For next season BASF are replacing Invigor R4022P with their new Invigor LR4540P. And with yield improvements across all yield groups, it makes sense why. It will have TruFlex technology along with BASF’s new trait Liberty Link. The Liberty Link will allow the applications of Glufosinate over the crop as per the label – however, if you don’t want to use the Glufosinate, you can treat it as a TruFlex variety. It is an early-mid maturity with a compact plant height and built-in blackleg group B resistance gene. And as with all BASF GM canola, it has the Podguard trait.

Nuseed Eagle TF

Nuseed’s Eagle was released last season, but only a limited amount of seed was available. A TruFlex variety, it will be well suited to the Saddleworth area with good yield potential. It has a mid-maturity with excellent early vigour and good biomass. It has a tall plant type and carries blackleg group A, B & D resistance genes.

Nuseed Hunter TF

Nuseed’s also released Hunter last season but again had limited seed available. Another TruFlex variety, that looks like it will also be well suited to the Saddleworth area; however, a little quicker than Eagle. It has an early mid-maturity with excellent early vigour and good biomass. Eagle has a medium plant type and carries blackleg group A & B resistance genes.

Nuseed Swordfish

Nuseed has released Swordfish for next year’s planting. Swordfish is an open pollenated, TT, Bonito replacement. An early-mid maturity the same as Bonito, with a medium plant type and blackleg group A, B & C resistance genes. These additional genes give it better blackleg resistance than Bonito, along with a yield improvement.

Pioneer PY421C

Pioneer has released PY421C for next season, which will replace 44Y94 we are familiar with. As we expect from Pioneer’s Clearfields, it comes with exceptional yield potential, and as 44Y94 did, it will cover a vast geographical area. PY421C is an early-mid maturity with a medium-tall plant type. Its blackleg resistance genes change slightly to groups A & C.

Pioneer PY422G

The first of Pioneer’s new Optimum GLY varieties PY422G will be an early-mid season maturity with a taller plant height. It will be comparable to Pioneer’s 44Y30 with a slight yield improvement. Data on its blackleg resistance is still to come to see where it sits.

Pioneer PY525G

The second of Pioneer’s new Optimum GLY varieties is PY525G, a mid-season maturity with a medium-tall plant height. It will be comparable to Pioneer’s 45YY28 with a slight yield improvement. Data on its blackleg resistance is still to come to see where it sits.
