Canola growers get excited. Nuseed is releasing three new canola varieties for 2023 during the up-and-coming spring field day season. There is one new HyTTec Hybrid TT and two new Truflex varieties to look forward to. All three are planned with limited commercial release volumes. If you are interested in any of these three, get in touch with Sam as soon as possible so he can work with Nuseed to bring you some seed for next season.

HyTTec VELOCITY

(Tested as – NCH19T588)
HyTTec Velocity is an early maturing Hybrid TT, maturing 2-4 days earlier than HyTTec Trident (similar to Hyola 350TT) and seen as having fast phenology and an earlier alternative to Trident. It demonstrates improved standability and a shorter height than Trident.
Nuseed has observed good pod shatter tolerance in HyTTec Velocity in trials.
It will likely have a bare blackleg rating of MR and blackleg grouping of AB.
Velocity has shown similar yields to Trident in Nuseed internal trials and National Variety Trials (NVT). 2022 is Velocity’s (T588) third year in NVTs.
Due to its early maturity, Velocity is suited to low to medium rainfall cropping zones with target yields of 0.5-2.5t/ha.

Nuseed EAGLE TF

(Tested as – NCH20Q732)
Nuseed Eagle TF is a mid-maturing Truflex hybrid, maturing 1-2 days later than Nuseed Condor TF. Nuseed is looking at Eagle TF as a potential replacement for Condor TF due to its improved yields in the high rainfall zone.
Nuseed anticipates Eagle TF will have a bare blackleg rate of R and blackleg grouping of ABD.
Eagle TF has shown improved yields over Condor and 45Y28 in Nuseed internal trials and NVTs.
It is suited to medium to high rainfall cropping zones with target yields of 1.5 – +4t/ha.

Nuseed HUNTER TF

(Tested as – NCH20Q733)
Nuseed Hunter is an early/mid-maturing Truflex hybrid with a similar maturity to 44Y27. Nuseed sees Hunter TF as a later alternative to Nuseed Emu TF.
It demonstrates good standability and short-medium plant height.
Nuseed has observed good pod shatter tolerance in Hunter TF in trials.
Nuseed anticipates Hunter TF will have a bare blackleg rate of MR and blackleg grouping of ABD.
Hunter TF has shown improved yields over 44Y27 and InVigor 4022P in Nuseed internal trials and NVTs.
It is suited to low to medium rainfall cropping zones with target yields of 1 – 3t/ha.

If any of these three varieties interest you, please get in touch with Sam as soon as possible. As mentioned before, it will be a limited release, so the earlier we know you are interested, the more likely you will get what you want.
